As YMCA Liaison for Y’s Men, US Area I am happy to report that many YMCA/Y’s Men issues were discussed at our Area Midyear Meeting held on January 11, 12, & 13, 2006.

 We made plans to make our connections much closer with the YMCA of the USA.  One idea is to offer teams of Y’s Men to assist Gulf State YMCAs get back on their feet after the devastation in their part of the country.

 We hope to get some of our activities published in the National YMCA publications.

 We are also making preparations to have a Y’s Men’s booth at the YMCA General Assembly in Nashville, Tennessee, this July.

 Later this spring we hope to meet with the new CEO of the YMCA of the USA.  We’d like to be better known by YMCA Staff, letting them know of all we do for our local YMCAs and communities.  The Zoomerang Survey we are working on will be the basis of our connection.  We hope this will lead to more exposure of Y’s Men’s worth in YMCA publications and in their staff training.
