U.S. AREA Y’S MEN - COMMUNITY SERVICE REPORT 2001-2002

 There were 24Clubs who sent in report. Out of the 24, 20 clubs participated in a community project.

 PACIFIC SOUTHWEST REGION

Torrance                                        No community project reported

Seal Beach Leisure World            Assist other seniors in the community by doing small jobs as a free service.

Palomar                                         Worked on Habitat for Humanity. Battered Women's shelter 
 donated food, clothing and toys for the kids.

Fullerton                                         Club adopted a classroom

North Coast                                   City beautification by hanging flower baskets

 Whittier PM                                  Served Thanksgiving dinner for after school program at YMCA

 Long Beach Uptown                     Helped at Special  Olympics  Winter Games. Also @ Food Finders.

 Bellflower                                       The club has been involved in various  community projects.  Make a difference day, Meals on wheels, Food donations, Special Olympics, School volunteering  just to name a few. 

Lakewood                                         Project Shepherd city of Lakewood donated 50 fruit baskets for low income, seniors and single parent families in the city.

Santa Monica am                             No community project reported

 Mid Valley                                       No community project reported  

West Valley                                      No community project reported

Gardena Valley                               "Make a Difference Day" Pancake breakfast, collected can goods and baby items. Also donated $500 to Gardena holiday food drive.

Haddonfield                                     Cleaned local Parks the club has adopted.

Helena                                              Donated to Montana child project.

Great Falls                                        No community project reported

Salem Y's Service                            Sponsored a used book sale, some of profit was donated to Salem Outreach Shelter and the Union Gospel Mission

 PACIFIC CENTRAL REGION

Selma                                                Club gave Scholar ship to local high school kids.  Made contribution to Local law enforcement K-9 partner program.

Clovis / Fresno                                 Helped with the 33^rd annual Wrestling tournament at local High School.

 MID AMERICA REGION

Carondelet                                        Collected food for local pantry distribution in community Annual book fair raised funds for meals on wheels program Made contributions to Literacy intergenerational program
