REGIONAL TRAVEL COORDINATOR (RTC)
As your RTC for this fiscal year and in concert with our Regional Director (RD),
a decision was made to ask each district within our region to identify at least
one or two potential host families that can be contacted for the possibility of
hosting a Brotherhood Fund Delegate and/or US Area or International Officers
that may visit our region for a short home stay.
We
need your help. We need hosts
families. Please help us to be
better prepared when BF guests etc. unexpectedly make a visit to our region.
Therefore, it would be nice to have a list of names for potential host
families from each district. Please
District Governors (DG’s) Club Presidents solicit this information and submit to
me as listed below the names, address, and telephone numbers of at least one or
two potential host families and club.
It is preferable that Y’s Men’s home that have never before hosted a Y’s Men
Visitor volunteer their home. In
addition, it is preferred that clubs that has not hosted a visitor during the
past year or two volunteer. If all
else fail submit the names of the faithful known few that has made this program
successful.
Oh
yes, our region recently hosted a Brotherhood Delegate from India, Doctor
M.C. Thomas, Ph.D. US Area
Travel Coordinator Ariani Friedl and our Regional Director (RD) Virgil
Lucas handled most of the coordination of this visit.
Doctor Thomas arrived in our region via Chicago and was hosted by
clubs from our Heartland District i.e., Naperville, St. Louis City North, St.
Louis Carondelet and clubs from the Iowa district
Doctor
Thomas attended our Regional Convention and I was told that he was made
to feel right at home. Sorry that I
did not get the chance to meet our BF delegate, however, I did facilitate his
home stay in St. Louis with City North member Paul Steward, Jr.
Happy Holidays,
McKinley Johnson, RSD/RTC
