U.S. AREA Y’S MENETTES
Who are the Y’s Menettes?
The constitution of the International Association of Y’s Men’s Clubs states: “There may be Y’s Menettes Clubs consisting of women to plan and carry out programs and projects of their own in support of the affiliated clubs, the YMCA and the community at local, District, Regional, Area and International levels.”
Y’s Menettes may be wives of Y’s Men or women who wish to enjoy the fellowship of Y’s Menettes and assist in the projects of Y’s Men, YMCA and the community.
When do Y’s Menettes meet?
Meetings are usually held monthly, in members’ homes or YMCAs. They generally consist of a business segment, work party and/or an interesting program.
Purpose of Y’s Menettes:
The following International Mission Statement was adopted October 2002:
Y’s Menettes is a vibrant community-based movement that successfully:
Supports the programs and aims of Y’s Men International and the YMCA, especially upholding the Christian principles
Encourages youth activities
Responds to community needs
Fosters international goodwill through support of the International Project and Sister Clubs
Promotes personal development
Encourages enjoyment of life
Keeps members informed of local, national and worldwide matters within the movement and acts accordingly.

Africa - Gambia, Women’s Development $21,000
India - Women’s Empowerment 5,000
Latin Am/Caribbean – Costa Rica, Gender Development 10,000
Africa – Senegal, Adolescent Reproductive Health 15,000
Europe – Bulgaria, Gabrovo YMCA Community Development Center 10,400
Philippines – Women’s Empowerment & Development 6,000
Indonesia – Women’s Participation in community for a better future 7,500
Bolivia – Cochabamba YMCA Youth development (goal) 15,000
